Suizhou, Hubei: Overnight Operation Eliminates Hidden Hazards, Ensuring "Zero-Disruption" Power Supply for Residents

Recently, a 16-hour overnight power repair operation was successfully completed in Suizhou City's Suiyuan Jiashu Community. The mission concluded as the final new high-voltage cabinet was commissioned and the mobile power vehicle smoothly departed the site.

Since the community's completion in 2015, residents' electricity demand has continued to rise with the growing use of high-power devices such as air conditioners and EV charging piles. During this year's summer peak season, the high-voltage cabinets in the community's distribution room began to show signs of wear from long-term high-load operation, including cabinet corrosion and decreased sensitivity of protective devices.

To ensure safe and reliable power supply for residents, the High-tech Zone Power Supply Center of State Grid Suizhou Power Supply Company conducted five on-site inspections. It coordinated three professional teams—including the distribution network live-line operation crew and the Development Zone Power Supply Service Station—and formed a task force of 23 core members. After detailed planning, the team adopted a solution combining temporary power supply via a mobile power vehicle with  off-peak construction during early morning hours.

The upgrade, lasting from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., involved replacing equipment such as insulators, bushings, and other components in 14 high-voltage cabinets, as well as installing one automated terminal device and one DC power system. Thanks to meticulous service and advanced technical execution, power supply for over 1,600 households remained completely unaffected throughout the operation.

The commissioning of the new equipment not only eliminated power supply weaknesses in the Suiyuan Jiashu Community and completed its electrical system upgrade, but also realized the goal of a public welfare project that "serves the people without disturbing their lives." By taking concrete action, the High-Tech Zone Power Supply Center of State Grid Suizhou Power Supply Company continues to uphold its principle that "electricity serves the people," strengthening the power foundation for Suizhou's development as a livable city.
