“The Transmission Panoramic Management Platform has shifted wildfire prevention from a ‘passive response’ to an ‘active early warning’ approach, providing critical technical support for wildfire prevention efforts,” an official from the Jiangxi Provincial Emergency Management Department recently praised, speaking highly of the platform’s enhanced application.
With its high forest coverage rate, Jiangxi faces significant challenges in wildfire prevention, as nearly 4,000 kilometers of transmission and distribution lines traverse forested areas. Since the beginning of this year, State Grid Jiangxi Electric Power Company has continuously strengthened government-enterprise collaboration on wildfire prevention and control, achieving data sharing in wildfire warnings and improving the accuracy of alerts. The two sides have jointly developed a wildfire risk model, incorporating historical fire data, vegetation distribution, and meteorological information to optimize corridors for new transmission lines. They have worked together to implement wildfire prevention measures for power lines, ensuring the safe and stable operation of transmission and distribution networks.
Currently, the Transmission Panoramic Management Platform integrates multiple data sources, including satellite remote sensing, video surveillance, and on-site inspections. Since the start of the year, it has accurately identified over 300 potential wildfire risks, providing strong technological backing to safeguard both the power grid and the ecological security of forested areas.(By Fu Jie)
