Overseas Vloggers Explore Youyu, Experience “Green Miracle” and Power of Eco-Industry

On the afternoon of November 6th, the vloggers participating in the “Shuozhou Through the Eyes of Overseas Vloggers (Season 3)” event visited Youyu County, Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province. They immersed themselves in witnessing the transformation of the once-barren deserts into a vast oasis, exploring the vivid practices of ecological civilization construction and industrial development.

At the Youyu Spirit Exhibition Hall, vloggers systematically learned about Youyu’s remarkable transformation from a “wasteland shrouded in yellow sand” to an ecological miracle of “lush green mountains” through viewing photos, physical displays, and restored scenes. A series of starkly contrasting historical photos and deeply moving stories of perseverance left them with a profound appreciation for the Youyu Spirit of “making unremitting efforts for long-term gains.” The exhibition guide explained that for over 70 years, the cadres and residents of Youyu have persisted in combating desertification, planting forests, and protecting greenery, increasing the local forest coverage rate from less than 1% to over 50%, thus creating the ecological miracle of “turning deserts into oases.”

Overseas vloggers were deeply moved by this spirit of perseverance and continuous struggle, unanimously expressing that it is not only a story of ecological miracle but also a legacy of faith. Miss Metinee Nuntadee, a vlogger from Thailand, said, “Youyu’s story has shown me the power of persistence, and helped me understand the true meaning of China’s approach to ecological civilization. This has been an unforgettable spiritual journey.”

Subsequently, the vloggers visited a leading sea buckthorn enterprise in Youyu County to learn how the region leverages its superior ecological environment and abundant sea buckthorn resources to promote the development of green industries. The company representative explained that they have now developed a series of products including sea buckthorn juice, health supplements, and cosmetics. With an increasingly refined industrial chain, the business has not only helped local farmers boost their income and achieve prosperity, but also become a vivid example of Youyu’s commitment to building an “eco-friendly county.”

Faced with a development model that integrates ecological and economic priorities, the vloggers all expressed their approval. Karyna Kovalevska, a vlogger from Ukraine noted, “Youyu’s approach demonstrates that ecological conservation and economic development can go hand in hand. Such a green development model is worth learning from and promoting.”
