Recently, at the tower assembly site of the ±800 kV Gansu-Zhejiang UHV transmission line project (Shaanxi Section 6) in Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province, construction personnel from State Grid Hubei Electric Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Co., Ltd. utilized new equipment to erect Tower N2503 in a mountainous area.
This equipment synchronously controls two sets, comprising a total of four hydraulic winches and four synchronous hydraulic rope retraction frames, through digital electro-hydraulic proportional valves. This enables a single operator to precisely control all four winches. Compared with traditional winch systems, conventional UHV tower assembly requires four operators to run mechanical winches and eight personnel to control tail ropes. With the application of the new equipment, the number of ground personnel required for the erection of each tower is reduced by 11.

Furthermore, the new equipment innovatively incorporates an intelligent automatic monitoring system. By installing sensors on the landing rocker-arm gin pole, the system can dynamically simulate the operating conditions of the gin pole throughout the entire construction process and monitor lifting loads and unbalanced torque in real time. This innovation effectively mitigates risks at the source, thereby enhancing worksite safety.
Looking ahead, State Grid Hubei Electric Power Transmission and Transformation Co., Ltd. will comprehensively promote mechanized construction in power transmission and transformation projects. By leveraging advanced, applicable, mature, and reliable technical equipment, the company aims to advance toward its objectives of full mechanization and smart construction. (By Li Ji)
