A Romantic Trip of Light and Shadow at Xi'an Film Studio

Founded in 1958, Xi'an Film Studio is one of the earliest and largest film production bases in Northwest China. Its six-decade history traces the evolution of the Chinese film industry. As filmmaking moved into the digital era, the studio's original facilities could no longer meet the needs of the modern industry. In 2016, Xiying Group launched the renovation of the former factory compound under a "scar‑free" development concept. The mottled red‑brick walls, Soviet‑era buildings, and modern art now stand side by side within a cultural park that integrates film and TV production, cultural experiences, and tourism.
