Jiaozuo, Henan: Reliable Power Supply Ensures Stable Production and Income Growth for Specialty Agriculture

Staff from the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company visited the Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, on March 12 to provide specialized power supply services for spring agricultural production.

The park cultivates 10,000 mu (about 1,647.4 acres) of Chinese chives, with its produce reaching markets in over ten provinces, including Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Liaoning. This has significantly boosted incomes for local growers and the available local workforce.

To ensure a reliable and safe power supply for the industrial park, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company conducts regular power supply visits. Staff examined key equipment, such as smart temperature control systems and irrigation pumps in the greenhouses. They identified and helped farmers rectify potential hazards like aging wires and overloaded equipment. Meanwhile, staff also shared practical knowledge on safe electricity use and energy-saving techniques with growers, addressed queries related to new power connection applications and fault repairs, distributed service cards, and established a one-on-one service support mechanism tailored to each grower.

In response to the electricity demands during the Chinese chive harvest season, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company has opened a "green channel" for specialty agricultural power use. This initiative ensures an uninterrupted power supply for every stage of the Chinese chive production chain—from planting and harvesting to storage, transportation, and testing—providing reliable support to help farmers increase their incomes.
