Reliable Power Supply Drives High-Quality Development of Specialty Agriculture in Jiaozuo

On April 8, in the wine cap mushroom cultivation woodlands in the northwest of Sigou Village, Xuliang Town, Jiaozuo City, farmers were busy harvesting mushrooms along the furrows. Nearby, two staff members from the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company were inspecting the power lines and equipment supporting the woodland's sprinkler facilities.

"The wine cap mushroom is a premium edible fungus. Its growth requires plenty of water, but it cannot tolerate waterlogged roots. This process relies entirely on a stable power supply to drive the sprinkler irrigation system for timed and quantified watering. A power outage can cause the mycelium to dehydrate, leading to lower fruiting rates, reduced yields, or even total crop failure," said mushroom grower Hu Weigong.
To ensure a reliable power supply for wine cap mushroom growers, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company drew up a power service map based on the detailed locations of the cultivation areas across various villages. The company assigned staff to provide zone-based services, enabling them to promptly understand electricity needs, inspect for electrical hazards, and handle unexpected power failures.
The staff went deep into the cultivation areas to inspect power lines and irrigation equipment for hidden dangers, helping growers resolve issues such as aging wires. They also provided targeted guidance on safe electricity use and scientific energy conservation.
Considering the heavy reliance of specialty agriculture on electricity, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company organized its employees to provide zone-based services covering the entire chain of the mushroom growers' needs, including electrical safety, equipment maintenance, and policy consultation. By upgrading rural power lines and adding distribution transformers, the company has enhanced power supply reliability, thereby empowering comprehensive rural revitalization.
