During the May Day holiday, at the Xiantao Expressway Service Area, Mr. Li, a new energy vehicle owner returning home from Nanjing, unplugged the charging plug and said excitedly, "So fast, that's great!" He told the operation and maintenance personnel from the Jingzhou Branch of State Grid EV Service Hubei Co., Ltd. who were on inspection, "It used to take half an hour to charge 30 kWh of electricity here on my way home. Now, with the new high-power superchargers, it only takes five or six minutes. The efficiency is really high, saving a lot of time for travel."
To cope with the "tidal" charging peak during the May Day holiday, the Jingzhou Branch of State Grid EV Service upgraded the old charging facilities in the Xiantao, Qianjiang, and Tianmen expressway service areas. In collaboration with personnel from local business units and marketing departments, they installed 20 new charging piles in 5 expressway service areas, totaling 40 high-power 640-kW supercharging ports, which significantly increased the per-unit charging capacity and efficiency.
The company also released a detailed guide to help drivers avoid busy charging stations and peak hours for faster charging. At the same time, it used big data to identify charging stations with low equipment availability and low first-attempt charging success rates in the first three months of this year. Dedicated personnel were dispatched to the sites to identify the causes and promptly troubleshoot and eliminate risks, providing new energy vehicle owners with tips for simple troubleshooting and procedures for quickly finding available charging piles.
The company has installed 500 cameras at 80 key stations. Staff on duty use large screens and RPA robots to remotely monitor the operating status of charging facilities around the clock. This allows for the real-time detection of safety hazards and equipment failures. Work orders are then promptly dispatched through the Internet of Vehicles platform with instructions to troubleshoot and eliminate risks, ensuring timely emergency repairs.
