Jiaozuo, Henan: Full Power Supply Guarantees a Bountiful Cherry Harvest Season

As cherries ripen across branches in May, the cherry planting base in Zhaohe Town, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, enters its picking season, drawing numerous tourists. To ensure safe and reliable power supply for cherry picking, cold‑chain preservation and rural tourism, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company has recently sent staff to conduct special visits and services on safe electricity use at cherry orchards in Zhaohe Town, supporting income growth of characteristic industries with thoughtful power services.

Boasting a wide planting area and fine varieties, cherries in Zhaohe Town have become a characteristic industry boosting villagers’ income and rural revitalization. During the picking period, there is high demand for electricity in irrigation, lighting, cold‑chain warehousing and livestream sales, which also requires stable power supply.

During the visits, staff conducted a comprehensive inspection of irrigation power lines, well water pumps, distribution boxes and power facilities in picking areas of cherry orchards. They set up hazard ledgers and urged on‑site rectification to ensure stable operation of electrical equipment.

Given the surging number of tourists and rising power load of rural guesthouses and farm stays in the cherry picking season, staff also gave detailed lectures on safe electricity‑use tips to fruit farmers and business operators, demonstrated the proper use of residual‑current circuit breakers, and distributed brochures on safe electricity use, to prevent electric shocks, fires and other power‑related accidents at the source.
