Conghua District, located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, southern China, is home to rare radon-containing bicarbonate hot springs. With temperatures exceeding 70°C and rich mineral content, these springs are among only two of their kind in the world. According to regional development plans, Conghua is striving to become a world-class wellness and tourism resort destination.

The "No. 1 Hot Spring in Lingnan"

Local authorities are promoting the development of a wellness industry cluster under a "Hot Spring +" strategy. The Liuxi Hot Spring Plaza Visitor Center, renovated from an unused "Lychee Ball" Plaza, opened in August 2025 and quickly became a popular attraction, welcoming nearly 10,000 visitors in a single day during the National Day holiday.

In Mibu Village, an integrated model combining hot spring therapy with rice-field tourism has taken shape. Visitors can enjoy the hot springs while viewing the golden rice fields. The high-end homestay brand "Daoxi Bay" has revitalized more than 100 vacant rural homes. In 2025, the village's per capita annual income reached 45,000 yuan, while collective village income exceeded 5.5 million yuan.

Conghua is transforming its hot spring resources from a natural asset into a driving force linking the wellness, tourism, and agriculture.
