"Come to Nansha, Create the Future" – Guangzhou Nansha High-Quality Development Promotion Event Held in Beijing

The "Come to Nansha, Create the Future" promotional event, part of Guangzhou Nansha's high-quality development promotion series, took place in Beijing on July 27. The event brought together more than 100 distinguished representatives from relevant national ministries and commissions, central state-owned enterprises in Beijing, as well as Fortune Global 500 companies and China Top 500 companies. It showcased Nansha's vast potential and abundant development opportunities as a strategic "pivotal point" in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Event venue

Situated at the southernmost tip of Guangzhou, Nansha is not only the only maritime gateway of the historic trading hub of Guangzhou, but also home to the Nansha Port Area of the Port of Guangzhou, which ranks among the world's top ten single-port container terminals by annual throughput. Located at the geographic center of the GBA, Nansha also serves as an important hub connecting urban clusters on both sides of the Pearl River Estuary with Hong Kong and Macao.

As Guangdong Province makes coordinated efforts to advance the development of the GBA, Nansha, as the "pivotal point" of the Bay Area, is accelerating efforts to become a new engine for high-quality development in the GBA, transforming from a geographic center into a functional hub and regional powerhouse.

With support from various sectors, Nansha's development has maintained strong momentum. In the first quarter and the first half of 2026, Nansha's GDP grew by 11.3% and 11.5%, respectively, continuing to lead Guangzhou's districts and demonstrating strong development momentum in the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
