As the autumn semester begins, more than 1.4 million students at 95 higher education institutions in Wuhan are returning to campus. State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company recently completed electrical safety inspections at higher education institutions across the city, focusing on power distribution rooms, teaching buildings, student dormitories and canteens. The company also developed power supply support plans for different institutions and electricity-use scenarios as part of preparations to ensure a safe and reliable power supply on campus during the new semester.

Power workers conduct comprehensive checks for potential hazards to ensure equipment is in good working order for the start of the semester
To promptly eliminate safety hazards, State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company organized multiple inspection teams to visit power distribution rooms, teaching buildings, student dormitories and canteens before the start of the semester. The teams inspected transformers, power lines, switchgear and key electrical facilities one by one, promptly addressing any problems identified to ensure the equipment was in good working order for the start of the semester.

While conducting comprehensive checks for potential hazards, power workers also developed an individual power supply support plan for each institution based on its specific needs. Stage lighting and sound systems used at welcome galas draw considerable power, while precision instruments in some laboratories require a continuous power supply. For these special scenarios, the company specified inspection times, emergency response procedures and the locations of backup power supplies to enable a rapid response in the event of an emergency.
While ensuring reliable power supplies at older campuses, State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company also designated new campuses welcoming students for the first time this year as key sites for power supply support, helping support the start of the semester at these campuses.
Throughout the back-to-school period, State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company will continue monitoring electricity loads and equipment operation at each institution, carrying out inspections during key periods and providing emergency support to ensure a safe and stable power supply for teaching and daily life after faculty and students return to campus.
