Decoding Shenyang Through Global Eyes: 2026 "Together Along the Belt and Road" Overseas Journalists' Tour Kicks Off

As "China Travel" continues to trend across global social media, Shenyang is opening its arms to the world with its unique charm. On September 10, the "China Travel GO Shenyang—2026 'Together Along the Belt and Road' Overseas Journalists' Tour to Shenyang" officially kicked off. Fifteen international journalists from Asia, Africa, South America, and Europe have traveled from far and wide to gather here. They will offer a global perspective on the city's vibrant energy and share authentic, vivid stories of Shenyang with the world.

At the opening ceremony, children from Shenyang Heping No. 1 Primary School made a stunning debut with their opera performance, Little Opera Performers. Their youthful yet clear and well-articulated singing showcased the enduring charm of traditional Chinese theater. Chen Xueyue, a sixth-generation inheritor of Fengtian shadow puppetry, moved her fingers gracefully behind the screen as she performed Flaming Mountain, bringing the enduring vitality of intangible cultural heritage to life through light and shadow. Finally, the Ruan ensemble performance, Melodies of the Ruan, presented by the Shenyang Conservatory of Music, enchanted the audience with notes as crisp as pearls falling on a jade plate. These cultural symbols, bearing a distinctive "Shenyang imprint," provided the overseas journalists with an immersive experience of the city's rich heritage and warm hospitality.

A city of scenic beauty and endless charm. During the event, Ji Yan, Shenyang's culture and tourism promotion ambassador, delivered a special presentation promoting Shenyang's culture and tourism offerings.

Over the coming days, the delegation will explore Shenyang's latest breakthroughs in high-quality development across the cultural, tourism, sports, and commercial sectors. They will tour the BMW Brilliance Tiexi Plant to observe the intelligent production lines at the manufacturing base for BMW's next-generation models; they will visit Shenyang Yuanda Group and the Industrial Museum of China to revisit the glory of many "Firsts in New China."

As they explore "Cultural Shenyang," the journalists will delve into the city's historical pulse through visits to the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum, the Shenyang Museum, and the Liaoning Provincial Museum, while embracing the lush landscapes of "Green Shenyang" at the Northeast Asia Cloud Grassland and the Rice Dream Space.

Furthermore, the journalists will head to the "Northeast Super League" semifinals to experience the excitement of Shenyang's home game against Changchun.
