Yifeng in Jiangxi Province, long known as a "hometown of bamboo" in China, is accelerating the transformation of its traditional bamboo industry into a modern, globally oriented sector producing high-end, environmentally friendly goods. Drawing on the area's rich bamboo resources, locally grown bamboo undergoes more than ten meticulous processing steps, including cutting, fine sanding and carving, to become premium, low-carbon, eco-friendly everyday products, unlocking greater value from natural resources.

A leading bamboo and wood products company that has operated locally for more than two decades has developed over 300 customized products for overseas customers and holds more than 20 design patents, along with several international certifications. Its innovative products, made using environmentally friendly processes, sell well in Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea and other markets. The company's exports exceeded US$3 million in 2025, as modern processing brings bamboo from the region's hills to markets around the world.

Responding to the bamboo industry's specific needs, State Grid Jiangxi Electric Power Co., Ltd. has introduced tailored services to support its high-quality development and improve efficiency. As part of power grid upgrades in industrial parks, it has upgraded a total of 35.13 kilometers of power lines and added 341,270 kilovolt-amperes of capacity, strengthening the power supply for continuous production. Regular site visits provide comprehensive electrical inspections, including equipment temperature checks and line inspections; identified hazards are logged, and companies receive assistance to address them within set deadlines. A streamlined process allows electricity connection applications to be accepted with a single document, reducing connection times by 8 percent. The company also provides prompt, round-the-clock responses to requests for additional capacity and electrical operation and maintenance support.

In 2026, a Jiangxi provincial project to develop a system of industry standards for bamboo as a substitute for plastic was launched in Yifeng.
