2026 Gansu Symposium on Advancing Rural Civility Held in Qingyang

On September 8, the 2026 Gansu Symposium on Advancing Rural Civility, co-organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, was held in Qingyang.

Event Venue

During the event, a representative from the Gansu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs shared insights on how improved rural governance has driven a shift in rural customs, and how the development of "harmonious and beautiful villages" has cultivated new civilized social norms. A representative from the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism discussed methods for nurturing wholesome folk customs and fostering contemporary values through fine culture. A representative from the Publicity Department of the CPC Qingyang Municipal Committee shared the experience in deepening cultural and ethical advancement to empower comprehensive rural revitalization, while a representative from the Publicity Department of the CPC Jinchuan District Committee in Jinchang shared achievements and strategies for fostering civilized customs through urban-rural integration.

Event in Progress

Subsequently, the provincial organizers jointly released 10 exemplary case studies on fostering civilized rural customs, with representatives from each project presenting their work. From harnessing revolutionary culture to cultivate civilized habits and coordinating regional efforts to curb exorbitant bride prices, to "bringing cultural services to the grassroots" to elevate rural civility—the cases presented reflect the province's diverse landscape and sectors. Rooted in grassroots realities and highly exemplary, these cases represent a microcosm of the province's achievements and serve as important benchmarks for future efforts to innovate and excel.

Neighborhood Volunteer Service Activity

A representative from the Publicity Department of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee stated that Gansu will use this event as a catalyst to continuously inspire rural areas with the Party's innovative theories and nourish local traditions with fine culture, striving for the mutual empowerment and coordinated development of urban and rural cultural-ethical progress.
