State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company Upgrades Extra-High-Voltage Transmission Line to Ensure Reliable Power Supply During Winter Peak Demand

On October 16, State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company carried out comprehensive maintenance and upgrading work on the 500-kV Renshang 5237 transmission line.

The 500-kV Renshang 5237 transmission line runs from the 500-kV Renzhuang Substation at Xuzhou Power Plant in northern Jiangsu to the 500-kV Shanghe Substation in Huai’an. It plays a vital role in transmitting electricity from northern to central Jiangsu and forms a key part of the province’s extra-high-voltage transmission network. The line also serves as an important channel for transmitting electricity from north to south and from west to east.

Work crews carry out conductor-lifting operations

The project primarily involves dismantling an aging guyed portal transmission tower and erecting a new type of self-supporting steel tower nearby that occupies less land. To ensure efficient and safe execution, State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company has carefully reviewed and refined the construction plan, optimized work procedures, and arranged in advance for the deployment of large cranes and other equipment. These measures will help improve work efficiency and ensure the safe and reliable operation of this vital transmission corridor during the winter peak-demand period.
