The 2026 “Invest in Huai'an” Golden Autumn Economic and Trade Symposium opened on October 31. The symposium brought together numerous business representatives. Representatives of several companies addressed the event as guest speakers, and executives from a range of firms attended.
The symposium in progress
Autumn is both a season of harvest and a season of sowing. In recent years, Huai'an has achieved results in three areas. The city's industrial development has made historic breakthroughs: the numbers of industrial enterprises above designated size, nationally recognized high-tech enterprises and companies in the 10-billion-yuan category have all doubled, as have total industrial output value and industrial electricity consumption. The business environment has continued to improve, with a system of government services supporting companies throughout their life cycle and steadily rising satisfaction among businesses. Development momentum has remained strong: over the past five years, the city's average annual growth rates in GDP and per capita disposable income for all residents have ranked among the highest in Jiangsu Province, reflecting continued progress in innovation and development.
Gu Kun, secretary of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee, delivers a speech.
Looking ahead, Huai'an will plant three seeds. The first is firm resolve to follow a consistent development blueprint. Guided by a sound understanding of what constitutes good governance performance, Huai'an will sustain its efforts to make the hometown of the late Premier Zhou Enlai a better place and better demonstrate its symbolic significance. The second is sincerity in putting projects first and placing a high value on the business environment. Huai'an will focus on new industrialization and take a user-centered approach to building a “rainforest-like” development ecosystem. The third is the aspiration to revitalize counties, improve people's lives and strengthen the city. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Huai'an will tackle challenges and make the most of this critical stage to achieve new advances in high-quality development.
The organizers expressed the hope that entrepreneurs would serve as Huai'an's partners and ambassadors and work with the city for mutual benefit. Guest representatives highly praised Huai'an for its superior business environment, sound industrial ecosystem, and fertile ground for scientific and technological innovation. Three tech companies based in Huai'an, including Jiangsu Feite'er Communication, presented their projects in a roadshow. The event also featured a presentation on Huai'an's industries. Agreements covering major projects, science and technology projects and funds were signed at the opening ceremony.
