Recently, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company completed the dismantling of obsolete poles and lines on the 10 kV Guzhuang Line. This live-line defect elimination operation cleared existing line hazards and improved the line's operating environment while ensuring uninterrupted power supply to customers along the line.
The vacant poles and lines left on the 10 kV Guzhuang Line had long occupied the line corridor, increasing the difficulty of inspection and maintenance and making short circuits, electrical discharges, and other faults more likely. State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company carried out the dismantling and defect elimination work and recovered and reused switchgear that remained in good condition after removal, balancing safety benefits with cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Before the operation, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company refined the construction sequence and prepared an operation plan based on site conditions. The live-line crew made safety preparations and provided technical support in advance. The workers climbed poles in groups and dismantled lead wires, switches, hardware fittings, and other components from top to bottom. The teams worked in close coordination and in a standardized and orderly manner, carrying out the dismantling and installation work without affecting normal power supply to customers.
A total of 6 poles, 2 pole-mounted switches and customer demarcation switches, and 1 set of drop-out fuses were dismantled. Next, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company will continue carrying out line defect elimination and rectification to improve power supply reliability.
