On September 11th, the 2019 World Floriculture Expo was held in Yanqing, Beijing. The world has, once again, witnessed the ecological charm of Yanqing through the floriculture industry.

In recent years, a growing number of floriculture enterprises have been attracted to Yanqing due to its ecological advantages, thus activating the “economy of beauty” in Yanqing District. Its exploration into the floriculture industry dates back to the the end of the last century. Sihai County, Yanqing District has led the way in developing cold and bulbous root flowers, its focus laid on cultivating flowers like lilies, thus starting a new chapter for the floriculture industry in the district.

The whole industry is symbolized by  “The Sea of Flowers for Four Seasons”. So far, Yanqing has presented the great scene of “Flower Sea on the Ground” that covers the widest area, boasts of the best effect, and showcases its own features in Beijing and North China at large. The district has successfully combined floriculture and tourism. The pigment from flowers has been used as the food additives. The floriculture industry has been deeply integrated with the secondary industry and the tertiary industry, and there has appeared a floriculture industrial chain full of vitality.

In 2014, Beijing successfully became the host city of the World Horticultural Exposition. The success has injected new vitality into the floriculture industry of Yanqing District. Yanqing has grasped the chance to vigorously develop the modern horticulture on the basic of the original industry. Now the industrial mechanism is more complete and a multi-industry system has been formed integrating R&D, production, trade fairs, technological services and tourist experience.
