Located in the west of Wuxi City, Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area is a national 5A tourist attraction. It is the birthplace of several representative cultural symbols of Wuxi, including Huishan Clay Figurine, Huishan Temple Fair and Huishan Pastry. Visitors can experience local customs and learn about the stories of Wuxi in this small town.

Huishan Historic and Cultural Street is regarded as the "outdoor history museum of Wuxi",as ancestral halls, ancestral temples, clay figurine shops, academies, and residential buildings along the street are mostly built in the traditional architectural style of Jiangnan region (a geographic area to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, which includes Wuxi and some other cities in Jiangsu Province).

Jichang Garden in the scenic area, also known as Qin Garden, was first built in the Ming Dynasty. The style of the classical garden, featuring villas at the foot of hills, is typical in Jiangnan region. Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty is a big fan of Qin Garden. During his six-time trips in Jiangnan region, he visited Huishan Mountain and Qin Garden seven times and eight times respectively.

In autumn, people come to the ancient town to climb hills, watch operas, view chrysanthemums and colorful leaves, enjoying the joy of life.

There is a 600-year-old ginkgo tree in the scenic area. As one of the oldest trees in Wuxi, it is 21 meters in height. It is so thick that four people can barely put their arms around it.

Huishan Spring, known as "the second best spring in China", enjoys good reputation nationwide for its cool and sweet taste. Literati often fetched water from this spring for tea-making in ancient times.
