International City Explorers Experience Intangible Cultural Heritage Items and Traditional Chinese Culture

Recently, the international city explorers went into the intangible cultural heritage folklore park in Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province to communicate face to face with inheritors of intangible cultural heritage and learn relevant knowledge, experiencing Chinese culture in an immersive way.

"Chinese traditional skills are incredible!" After visiting the micro-carving, dough sculpture, paper cutting, Chinese knotting and other intangible cultural heritage crafts, Phan Thi Ngoc Han from Vietnam marveled at the superb skills, "I learned about China's handmade arts and crafts in Vietnam on TV. This time in Shuozhou I have seen and experienced these intangible cultural heritage arts and crafts. This feeling is beyond my description."

Alberto from Spain made his first gourd carving under the guidance of intangible cultural heritage inheritor Bai Jinfeng. "I carved a Chinese character 'Fu' on it. The dough sculpture and paper cutting were also very interesting. The trip to Shuozhou made me realize the passion of Shanxi people and also made me feel the excellence of the artisans of intangible cultural heritage in their skills."

The four international city explorers also made Chinese knots. "The red Chinese knot reminds me of the Vietnamese song 'China and Vietnam are Connected by Mountains and Water'. It symbolizes the deep friendship between China and Vietnam," Phan Thi Ngoc Han said.
