Sichuan Zigong's Acrobatic Work "Inverted Nezha" Won the Silver Medal at the International Circus Festival

Recently, the Sichuan Zigong Acrobatic Troupe formed a team for the first time to participate in the 14th Basel International Youth Circus Festival in Switzerland, and the selected program “Inverted Nezha” won the silver medal.

“Inverted Nezha” is a work created by Zigong Acrobatic Troupe Company in 2022. Through acrobatics and humorous performances, it portrays an image of a young hero who appears rebellious, kind-hearted and upholds justice.

According to Li Yi, the head of the Zigong Acrobatic Troupe, the "protagonist" of this award-winning performance is Guo Yaoyao, an actor from the “the generation born in the 00s” of Zigong Acrobatic Troupe Performance Co., Ltd. She entered the Zigong Branch of Sichuan Art School at 6 years old and engaged in professional acrobatic training for 5 years. In 2018, she was admitted to the Zigong Acrobatic Troupe and has won various awards for her representative works, which are deeply loved by the audience.

The 14th Basel International Youth Circus Festival in Switzerland officially kicked off on May 11th. A total of 523 application programs were received in this competition, and a total of 13 programs from 12 countries were selected through the preliminary evaluation by the judges to enter the finals. Guo Yaoyao is the only Chinese actor to be nominated for the finals.

The Zigong Acrobatic Troupe was founded in 1954 and is an early established acrobatic art professional performance group in China. It has won the "Wenhua Award" of the Chinese Culture and Art Government Award twice, the "Bashu Literature and Art Award" multiple times, and the gold medal of the Spanish International Circus Festival in 2014. It has visited more than 40 countries and regions and is known as a beautiful business card for Zigong's foreign cultural exchange. It made positive contributions to the publicity of Zigong, the spread of folk skills and the telling of the "Zigong story".
