German Invested Companies and Jiangxi Working Together to Write a Wonderful Chapter of Win-Win Cooperation

On May 24, the “Xplore China – Jiangxi” Exchange Conference was held in Nanchang, hosted by the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government and jointly organized by the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province and AHK Greater China.

Xia Wenyong, deputy provincial governor of the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government, extended a warm welcome to the guests and paid sincere tribute to the German-invested enterprises committed to strengthening German-Jiangxi economic and trade cooperation. Xia Wenyong pointed out that over the past 50 years, with the joint efforts of China and Germany, and with the joint promotion of the business community and enterprises of both countries, bilateral trade has become a rushing river from a trickle at the beginning of diplomatic relations, achieving nearly 1,000-fold development.

Maximilian Butek, chief representative of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Shanghai, executive director & board member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China-Shanghai, fully affirmed that the investment in China and in Jiangxi held great business opportunities and was looking forward to further strengthening the economic, trade, and technology exchange and cooperation between Germany and Jiangxi. Maximilian Butek said that the development of China in the past five years has been very exciting and AHK Greater China is hoping to tell a new China story here.

Rao Zhixin, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province, made an investment promotion around three aspects: “Cooperation with German enterprises, Jiangxi’s open-door is opening wider and wider”, “Cooperation with German enterprises, Jiangxi has a solid and mature industrial foundation”, and “Cooperation with German enterprises, Jiangxi has a first-class and efficient business environment”, calling on the majority of German-invested enterprises to come to Jiangxi to create wealth, and work together with Jiangxi to write a wonderful chapter of win-win cooperation.

Han Lei, vice president of Siemens (China) Co., Ltd, Sasha Renson, global business development manager (Asia Pacific) of Nefab Packaging, Inc, and Soeren Meyer, CFO of Giesecke & Devrient (China) Technologies Co., Ltd, speaking in turn as corporate guest representatives. “Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi, is a dynamic city, and we have been investing here for 26 years, and are deeply feeling the development opportunities in Nanchang.”, Soeren Meyer said.

In addition, 13 projects were signed in this exchange conference, including 2 strategic cooperation memorandums, 5 cooperation agreements, and 6 investment projects, with a total investment contract amount of 222 million U.S. dollars.
