Shangshan Archaeological Park of Pujiang County in Zhejiang Province witnessed the important event of Nationwide Exercise Campaign during Asian Games and the release of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games -Related Song called “Grow in A Continuous Line” on May 27.

Two songs, “Grow in A Continuous Line” and “Shangshan over Thousands of Years”, were sung in the release ceremony. The 19th Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee, Jinhua Municipal Sports Bureau and relevant leaders of Pujiang County got started together to announce the worldwide release of the MV of “Grow in A Continuous Line” on online and offline platforms.

It is known that this song is conducted by Lang Lang, the image ambassador of Hangzhou Asian Games, and involves the Aiyue Band under the direction of a famous conductor Yu Long. A gentle, generous and continual image of Asia is sung by well-known singers including Liao Changyong, Tan Weiwei, Ayanga and Cao Fujia in Liangzhu Cultural Relics, the bank of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium and Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Natatorium respectively.

Thanks to its long and profound history, Pujiang County boasts a strong cultural and historical foundation like “Tens of Thousand Years of Shangshan”, “Thousand Years of Zheng Family’s Yi Men” and “Century-old Home to Painting and Calligraphy”. Therefore, it can be reputed as the epitome of how our Asian culture has been developing over the same line.

Shangshan Relics, found in 2000, is estimated to have already existed for 8,600 to 11,400 years and be one of the earliest relic in the Neolithic Age of China according to the data of Carbon-14 dating. It is strongly evident that Shangshan Cultural Relics witnessed our Chinese culture over a span of more than 10,000 years. The name of Shangshan culture was officially established in November of 2006. Over the past 20 years, the relics has made major discoveries with 21 relics exposed in Jinhua, Pujiang, Yiwu, Yongkang, Wuyi, Longyou, Xianju, Chengzhou, Linhai and Lanxi. In the 20th Anniversary of Shangshan Relics Academic Seminar held in November of 2020, experts at home and abroad argued that it was the earliest ruin of rice farming in the world so far and that Shangshan culture was defined as the origin of global rice farming. As the culture possesses the earliest ancient villages, it is normally seen as the origin of China’s farming village culture. Its painted potteries, one important branch of painted pottery culture in the Neolithic Age, are also the earliest ones found in China and even East Asian regions.

People here feature a great spirit of seeking progress and heading forwards, which highly suits the connotation of “growing in a continuous line”. This song’s release is not only a form of cultural inheritance but also a kind of spiritual development.
