First Offline Themed Filming Event of 3rd 'Beijing - A Global City' Short Video Contest

On the evening of July 20, the first offline themed filming event of the 3rd "Beijing - A Global City" Short Video Contest was launched in Chaoyang District, focusing on the global service environment and international communities of Beijing. The event was participated by practitioners within the new media sector as well as video bloggers from more than ten countries including Australia, Thailand, Greece, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

During the event, foreign participants strolled around "Sharing +" Party and Mass Service Center and enjoyed a night tour on the Liangma River, and participated in activities such as Chinese classes, Chinese calligraphy exercises, Chinese round fans (known as "tuanshan" in Chinese) drawing, and coffee making.

"The 'internationalized atmosphere' of Beijing is the result not only of the melding of tradition and modernity but also the harmonious coexistence of diverse cultures", remarked Nguyen Thi Thanh, a Vietnamese video blogger.

Lyu Qianqian, a media personality from Australia, gave a thumbs-up to a local café, commenting that, "Coffee plays a vital role for a city in gaining the favor of the international community. Cafés can be found everywhere in Beijing, and the quality of coffee in this city is just as good as that of any other city with a rich coffee culture".

Video bloggers Derouiche Asma and Mariem Riden from Tunisia exclaimed, "The night tour on the Liangma River was so romantic! It reminded us of our hometown by the Mediterranean Sea. We are going to post videos featuring this wonderful place and bring all of our friends here!"
