On September 26, the opening ceremony of the 12th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (National Competition) and the New Materials Industry Development Summit was held in Xiangjiang New Area, Hunan Province.

The opening ceremony of the national competition released the new materials industry ecosystem of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area with a detailed analysis, with the aim to help promote the connection and matchmaking of key new material application enterprises with participating enterprises in this competition.
A total of 242 sci-tech innovation enterprises in new materials joined in this national competition in Changsha. Their entries mainly involve new materials such as ultra-thin carbon fibers, high-performance ceramic fibers, rare-earth magnetic materials, new-generation biomaterials, new energy materials, high-temperature superconductors, graphene materials and high-entropy alloys, as well as related wide applications in aerospace, marine, petroleum, new energy vehicles, medical equipment, precision ceramics, information display and other fields.
The award-winning enterprises will receive support from national, provincial, municipal, and new area sci-tech programs on top of guidance in listing and talent policy application. Additionally, among the partners of the competition, banks and other financial institutions can provide technology-related preferential financial support for award-winning enterprises that open settlement accounts and raise money at their science and technology branches. Moreover, the venture capital (VC) funds will offer a total of CNY-one-billion VC investments, giving priority to financing and investment of outstanding projects in the competition.
It is reported that Hunan Xiangjiang New Area is to cultivate a fertile land for entrepreneurs to see their dreams bear fruits. Taking the competition as an opportunity to further promote the in-depth integration of science and technology, finance and industry, the Xiangjiang New Area will inject an "impetus of new materials" into its efforts to build the core pioneering area of a global R&D center in Changsha.
