The 8th Chengdu International Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival Officially Kicks Off

On October 12th, the 8th International Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage officially kicked off in Chengdu, SW China's Sichuan Province. 47 distinctive domestic and international intangible cultural heritage performance groups staged a colorful Tianfu Grand Parade at the Chengdu International Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo Park.

This year's festival is themed "sharing implementation practices and deepening mutual learning between civilizations". It held more than 30 distinctive festival activities in four major sections: "Intangible Cultural Heritage from Five Continents", "Intangible Cultural Heritage from China", "Intangible Cultural Heritage from Bashu Region", and "Online Intangible Cultural Heritage". Over 900 intangible cultural heritage projects, over 6,000 intangible cultural heritage inheritors, traditional performers, and domestic and foreign guests from 47 countries and regions participated in this year's festival.

On the same day, five major exhibitions opened, including "Exhibition of Intangible Cultural Heritage Integration in Modern Life", "International Handicraft Exhibition", "Sichuan International Intangible Cultural Heritage Brand IP Authorization Exhibition", "Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Same Roots Exhibition", and "Tianfu Root - Sichuan Intangible Cultural Heritage Special Exhibition", which present different themes and forms to the audience.

In recent years, Chengdu has brought the world's advanced intangible cultural heritage protection concepts and diverse world cultures to Chengdu by holding intangible cultural heritage festivals.
