The Award Ceremony of the Third "Beijing - A Global City" Short Video Contest was held at the China National Film Museum on December 18. A total of 32 entries brought home the First, Second and Third prizes, and the Outstanding Individual Awards, with the School of Languages and Communication of Beijing Technology and Business University and 14 other organizations recognized with awards for outstanding organizations.

This year's contest was hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and organized by CRI Online of China Media Group, with the Bureau of Public Information and Communication of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China overseeing the event for the first time. The contest invited citizens in Beijing, foreigners who are interested in and love this city, and local organizations to capture the beautiful moments through their lenses, showcasing the vibrant, colorful, and warm heart of this global city.

Since the event's launch on May 31 this year, participants from more than 100 nations and regions worldwide, including Australia, Egypt, Russia, the United States, Spain, and Vietnam, to name a few, have made more than 260 outstanding entries.

As part of the contest, eight special offline filming campaigns focusing on "International Communities," "International Exchanges in Culture and Art," and "Key Industry Zones" among others have been organized with foreign diplomats, journalists, experts, students, and Internet influencers at the Liangma River International Waterfront, the National Center for the Performing Arts, Yanqi Lake International Conference Resort, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, and several other locations to witness first hand Beijing's development into a center for international exchange, high-level opening-up, and high-quality development.

The panel of experts awarded first prize to two works titled "Dream Chaser in Zhongguancun" and "Beijing - Strings - Affection". "Bon Voyage on a Bamboo Bicycle" and four other works received second prize, and "City Walk in Fengtai" and the nine others were awarded the Third Prizes. A total of 15 works, including "You've Got a Letter from Beijing," received the Outstanding Individual Awards and the awards of other categories.

"Beijing - A Global City" is a brand event that aims to promote Beijing as an international city. It is now into its third year and has attracted thousands of participants from within China and further afield to capture and share their stories about this unique international city.
