Foreign Friends Experience Traditional Chinese Costumes During New Year Gala in Zibo

On January 1st, 2024, over 20 foreign friends from France, Nigeria, Moldova, Japan, and South Korea put on traditional Chinese costumes and opera outfits during the New Year Gala at Hongye Shiyan Tourist Area in Zibo city, Shandong province. They presented an exotic fashion show on the spot.

“I like opera costumes because the colors are so beautiful. And I’m also interested in the makeup, music, and movements of Peking Opera. Only after I witness these with my own eyes in China, can I be able to fully appreciate the enchantment of it.” Hee Jin from South Korea said excitedly.

“Striking iron flowers”, a thousand-year-old intangible cultural heritage in China, was also performed at the party. Iron that melted at 1600℃ was used to create a shower of sparks, just like fireworks all over the sky. The iron sparks formed the scene of “long dragons spitting fire”, bringing the gala to a climax.
