The Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City is a collaborative effort between China and France to address challenges such as global climate change and environmental protection, aiming to promote the construction of an ecological new city, established in March 2014 in Caidian, Wuhan. This represents the highest level and largest scale of cooperation between China and France in the field of urban sustainable development.

Over the past decade, six forums have been jointly held by China and France in Wuhan and Beijing, gathering resources from both countries in the field of urban sustainable development, including enterprises, projects, talent, capital, and technology, gradually expanding its influence. To date, the Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City has accumulated a total fixed asset investment of RMB 72.7 billion, with its three leading industries - high-end services, digital economy, and life health - continuously developing, and a coexisting pattern of connected rivers and lakes, as well as the integration of mountains, waters, and the city, gradually emerging.

The "Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City Ten-Year Development White Paper" released on the same day shows that the Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City integrates sustainable development technologies and experiences in urban planning, design, and construction management from both countries, emphasizes the utilization of renewable energy and ecological environmental technology, highlights a low-carbon transportation system and the application of green buildings, and is gradually becoming a model of ecological priority, green development, and livability.
