First Shared Energy Storage Station In Western Henan Province Has Been Successfully Inaugurated

Recently, the second batch of new energy storage stations in Henan Province, and the first of its kind in the western region of Henan, the Hubin District 50MW/100MWh shared energy storage station, has been successfully connected to the grid.

To ensure the early operation of this project, the State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company has actively collaborated on its testing and installation, conducting over 20 on-site tests. Every detail was diligently tracked and comprehensive service was provided for each aspect from construction coordination, document review, communication and automation testing, protection setting calculations, dispatch plan submissions to construction acceptance. This thorough approach has ensured the swift advancement of this project.

According to reports, the 50MW/100MWh shared energy storage station in Hubin District can store up to 100,000 kilowatt-hours of new energy power per charge, providing a total electricity generation of 52 million kilowatt-hours to society. This capacity can meet the annual electricity needs of 26,000 households, equivalent to the annual electricity generation of a 50MW photovoltaic power station.

As the first flexible power source in western Henan Province, the successful operation of the 50MW/100MWh shared energy storage station in Hubin District will effectively support the electricity supply in Sanmenxia City, Luoyang City and other areas this summer. It will promote the full integration of renewable energy sources in the region, enhance the flexibility, reliability and security of the regional power grid, and provide reliable support for the green and low-carbon transformation of energy as well as the secure and stable operation of the power grid.
