State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company Implements Multiple Measures for Safety of the Power Grid During the Flood Season

On July 11, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company organized special inspections on the lines, equipment, and substations under its jurisdiction following the rain.

Recently, Sheqi County in Nanyang City, Henan Province, China, experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. To ensure the safe and stable operation of electrical equipment, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company quickly organized its staff to carefully inspect whether the local line pole bases had sunk, whether the guy wires were secure, whether the porcelain bottles were broken, etc.

In addition, they conducted load monitoring and low voltage switch checks on the substation transformers, as well as inspections on whether the equipment as well as lead connection parts and contact joints were hanging with foreign objects. Each power supply station carried out safety hazard investigations on low-voltage lines and substations within its jurisdiction according to their respective responsibilities, ensuring reliable, safe, and stable operation of electrical equipment.

During the special inspection, the inspectors made rectification while checking, so as to promptly address any potential hazards that could be dealt with on-site; they documented the hazards that could not be immediately resolved in a register to ensure timely elimination and handling; they meticulously recorded the operational status of the lines for analysis and summary.

Currently, as the power grid flood prevention enters a crucial phase, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company will continue to closely monitor weather conditions, implement a duty system, intensify line inspection efforts, conduct thorough hazard investigations, so as to ensure the safety of the power grid during the rainy season and build a solid safety barrier.
