"Mr. Min, your old water heater is prone to electrical leaks. I've replaced it with a new electric kettle equipped with dry-boil protection." Recently, in Yuhe Village of Xinmin Town, Dianjiang County, Chongqing, power grid volunteers donning signature red vests purchased small household appliances out of pocket for the 85-year-old Mr. Min, who lives alone, and patiently explained how to use them safely.
This heartwarming scene reflects how the State Grid Dianjiang Power Supply Company is implementing national initiatives to care for vulnerable populations—specifically the elderly and children. Leveraging the 10th China Brand Day, the company launched its "Shining Red Rock" (Yao Hongyan) service campaign dedicated to supporting these demographic groups.

During the campaign, five "Red Vest" volunteers visited local nursing homes, translating their comprehensive services into a tangible sense of well-being for the elderly. Additionally, timed with the National Day for Helping the Disabled, the company organized three young volunteers to visit the Dianjiang County Special Education School. There, they hosted interactive safety workshops, using accessible language to teach students essential knowledge on electrical safety, what to do if they get lost, and basic self-rescue skills.

Since May 4, the power company's volunteers have visited three nursing homes and six rural villages. They have provided thoughtful services, such as electrical circuit inspections, for 120 elderly individuals and purchased 50 essential daily items on their behalf.
Moving forward, the State Grid Dianjiang Power Supply Company will continue to advance its "Dual Power Drive: Lighting Up the Elderly and Youth" brand initiatives. By deepening its "Going Out + Inviting In" public welfare model and establishing two additional "Power Care Stations," the company aims to safeguard both the golden years of the elderly and the bright futures of the young through warm, compassionate service.
