On November 25, State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Co., Ltd. launched comprehensive upgrades to the Shou No. 5 oil mill line (10kV) in Tanzhuang Village, Pengdian Town, Yanling County, Xuchang City, Henan Province, China. The project aims to reduce the isolation time of faults during snow and ice conditions, enhance the line’s resistance to icing, and improve distribution network reliability for winter power supply.
To strengthen the distribution network's winter power supply capabilities, State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Co., Ltd., in collaboration with city and county authorities, mobilized maintenance teams for comprehensive inspections. The company identified a total of 101 distribution network power lines susceptible to icing and added 179 primary and secondary integrated pole-mounted circuit breakers and 50 isolation switches. These upgrades focused on lines with long service years, excessive conductor spans, and histories of ice-related short circuits, to further enhance the distribution network’s resilience to natural disasters and ensure safe and reliable winter power supply.
To guarantee successful project completion, State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Co., Ltd. developed transformation plans and assembled an expert construction team. The company implemented full-process quality control and conducted rigorous quality inspections to ensure substantial results from the anti-icing work. In addition, State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Co., Ltd. enhanced on-site safety protocols by strengthening work order management, implementing supervision systems, and establishing standardized work procedures. These measures were doubled to ensure both operational and construction safety throughout the project.
