
On October 23, 2025, the 2025 "Study Beijing" Education Exhibition was successfully held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, hosted by the Beijing International Education Exchange Center, and co-organized by the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek (Tashkent State Oriental University). The exhibition featured a delegation from Beijing, which comprised representatives from nine institutions, namely Beihang University, the Central University of Finance and Economics, the China Agricultural University, the Renmin University of China, the Beijing Jiaotong University, the Beijing Forestry University, the Beijing Foreign Studies University, the China University of Geosciences, and the Beijing College of Finance and Commerce. The delegation showcased Beijing's high-quality educational resources and potential for cooperation.

At the opening ceremony of the education exhibition, Sun Changdong, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Uzbekistan, said in his speech that this education exhibition is an important practice of China-Uzbekistan "Belt and Road" education initiative, providing a direct dialogue platform for mutual learning and exchange in the field of education between the two countries, and helping to promote more practical cooperation. Ms. Rikhsieva Gulchekhra Shavkatovna, Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, commented that the high-quality educational resources and international training models of Beijing's universities are exactly what Uzbek students urgently need. Zhang Wei, Deputy Director of the Beijing International Education Exchange Center and Head of the Beijing Education Delegation, introduced in her speech that Beijing will take this event as an opportunity to further expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in the fields of teacher training, curriculum sharing, and student exchange, and continue to strengthen the "Study Beijing" brand.The education delegation of Beijing held in-depth discussions with local institutions on inter-school cooperation in featured sector, promotion of industry-education integration projects, and sharing of educational resources, and reached a number of cooperation intentions on site. Among them, the Central University of Finance and Economics and the Beijing Forestry University respectively presented scholarship quota certificates to Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies; the China Agricultural University presented a scholarship offer to the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, and issued pre-admission notices to two Uzbek students.

Signing the agreement on student recruitment based school
On the day after the opening ceremony, namely October 24, the Beijing College of Finance and Commerce signed an agreement on establishing a student recruitment base with the Affiliated High School of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, and the education delegation of Beijing awarded a plaque to the school as a student recruitment base. Sun Changdong, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Uzbekistan, Ms. Zhang Wei, Head of the Beijing Education Delegation and Deputy Director of the Beijing International Education Exchange Center, Mrs. Yuldasheva Iroda Salokhutdinovna, Head of the Department of Preschool and School Education of Tashkent, and Sultanov Khodjimurad Abdukhakimovich, Executive Director of the Academic Lyceum at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, attended the signing ceremony as witnesses. This signing marks a new stage in the substantive promotion of international educational cooperation between the two schools, builds a new bridge for China-Uzbekistan educational and cultural exchanges, and injects new momentum into the development of international student education in China.

There was a warm atmosphere at the education exhibition on the 23rd, attracting representatives from 6 local universities and 9 middle schools to attend and consult, and nearly 1,300 local students and parents to engage in exchange. The participating institutions introduced in detail Beijing's educational resources, cooperation directions, and scholarship systems to the participants by showcasing characteristic cooperation projects and explaining policy measures; they also provided "one-stop" consultation on visa application and academic certification. In addition, on-site arrangements were made for students studying in Beijing to share their study experience, giving participants a first-hand understanding of the real experience of "studying in Beijing".
Askarov Bekzod, a second-year student from the Affiliated High School of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, said: "After listening to the introduction of Beijing's universities, I particularly yearn to study digital cultural and creative design in Beijing. I learned about different teaching models on site, and the sharing of the 'Study Beijing' scholarship policy by senior students also made me more confident. I hope to successfully obtain the admission notice from a Beijing university through the student recruitment base school channel next year."
A delegate from education delegation of Beijing said that the next step will be to take Tashkent as a fulcrum to promote in-depth alignment of Beijing's educational resources with Uzbekistan's "school expansion plan" and contribute "Chinese educational wisdom" to talent development for the "Belt and Road" Initiative. As an important business card for Beijing's educational publicity to the outside world, this education exhibition closely follows the framework of China-Uzbekistan "Belt and Road" education initiative, further promotes the alignment of Beijing's high-quality educational resources with Uzbekistan's educational needs, and plays an important role in serving the construction of Beijing as an international exchange center, optimizing and strengthening the "Study Beijing" brand, and activating new momentum for China-Uzbekistan educational cooperation.
