On October 28th, the 2025 International Conference on Trade in Agricultural Services was held in Nansha, Guangzhou. Twelve major projects were signed on site, covering areas such as the construction of seed industry R&D platforms, agricultural product exports, and deep processing.
During the conference, the Guangzhou (Nansha) Agricultural Opening-up and Cooperation Pilot Zone High-quality Development Promotion Conference was held simultaneously. In the Nansha Modern Agriculture International Service Trade Special Zone, collaboration efforts between local towns and subdistricts and enterprise exhibitions were organized to extend a sincere invitation to global investors.

At the event, three distinctive exhibition areas showcased Nansha's "global circle of friends" in agriculture. Within the "Buying Global, Selling Global" exhibition area, high-quality agricultural products such as Nansha's mud crabs, Xinken's lotus roots, and sunflower chickens were showcased alongside imported products, creating a distinctive pattern of "local quality products + global selection." As China's largest seaport for the import of durians and cherries, Nansha relies on more than 170 international liner routes to make "global ingredients converging in Nansha and quality products from the Greater Bay Area reaching the world" a reality. Imported fresh fruits are directly delivered to the Greater Bay Area market within two hours, and the annual handling capacity for foreign trade grain exceeds 10 million tons. Behind these figures lies the robust strength of Nansha's international shipping hub.
The International Ornamental Fish Exhibition Area vividly demonstrates Nansha's strategy of "leveraging small initiatives to drive major industries." From being listed among Guangdong's first billion-yuan modern agricultural industry clusters to establishing an international hub for ornamental fish trade, Nansha has adopted a "1+1+2+N" model to cover the entire industry chain. Tropical ornamental fish from Qingqing Natural Agriculture are exported to Europe and the United States; Lanhai Marine Technology is building a marine ornamental aquaculture and breeding base; and Singapore's South Island Aquarium has established a freshwater ornamental fish import and export base. This two-way dynamic of "bringing in" and "going global" is now well established, positioning Nansha as China's largest tropical ornamental fish cluster on the global stage.
The International Pet Community exhibition area, which featured everything from innovative pet pharmaceuticals to high-end diagnostic and treatment services, from internship bases for university students from Hong Kong and Macao to collaborative laboratories established in partnership with Hong Kong for "government-university-research" collaboration, showcased Nansha's determination to build a high-end pet community and develop the pet economy.
As the only national-level agricultural opening-up and cooperation pilot zone approved in six years, Nansha has built a modern open ecosystem featuring "hard channels + soft environment" supported by the "five-port linkage", providing strong guarantees for the development of global agricultural service trade.
Focusing on the related industries of the "Three Major Centers for Seed Industry in Nansha", Nansha has joined hands with Guangdong Seed Industry Group Co., Ltd. to establish a high-quality development fund for the seed industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a size of 1 billion yuan. At this conference, the project was officially signed, clearly conveying Nansha's strategic layout to build an international seed industry technology innovation center and cultivate world-class leading enterprises in the seed industry chain.
When the eyes of global agriculture are focused on Nansha, this hot spot is proving to the world that agriculture can also be cutting-edge; agricultural service trade also needs to connect with the global market. As the applause faded, Nansha's new journey of agricultural opening-up has just begun—this is not only a venue for international conferences, but also a new starting point for agricultural globalization.
