Recently, Tajik youngster Haike visited the Yangshi Lei Memorial Hall in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, immersing himself in the exquisite craftsmanship of ancient Chinese architecture. Standing before a 1:30 scale wooden model of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, he carefully observed its sophisticated structure composed of over seventy thousand mortise-and-tenon components. The fact that the model fits together seamlessly without a single nail or rivet left him in awe.

The Yangshi Lei, an architectural family active during the Qing Dynasty, presided over the construction of numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites including the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace, over a span of more than two hundred years. After personally assembling a mortise-and-tenon building block set, Haike excitedly remarked, "Perfect!"

Following the visit, Haike specifically purchased a copy of the book "Hello, Yangshi Lei," planning to share it with family and friends back in Tajikistan, so that this cross-cultural architectural dialogue can continue. (By Xie Hua)
