Huangshi, Hubei: “Seamless” Electricity Connection Services Support Quality Upgrades in Seamless Steel Pipe Production

Recently, at the 110 kV Xinye Special Steel step-down substation near Jinhu Street in Daye, Huangshi City, Hubei Province, power workers carefully conducted inspection and acceptance checks on newly installed equipment in preparation for the project’s final completion and commissioning. State Grid Huangshi Power Supply Company accelerated the electricity connection process through the “seamless” coordination of service procedures, providing strong support for the enterprise to improve product quality.

The 110 kV Xinye Special Steel step-down substation is a newly built power facility designed to meet the capacity expansion and upgrading needs of the seamless steel pipe production line of Daye Xinye Special Steel Co., Ltd. In addition to the installation of two 50,000 kVA transformers, two newly built 110 kV lines from the nearby power grid also need to be connected to the substation, making the project relatively complex.
“Considering that the customer needed to be energized in May this year, we carefully reviewed the electricity connection process and changed some ‘sequential’ steps into ‘parallel’ ones,” said Zhang Jian, head of the business expansion and electricity connection team at the Marketing Operations Center of State Grid Huangshi Power Supply Company. The company has also established a multi-party consultation mechanism involving design, construction, the enterprise, and other parties to ensure close coordination at every stage.

From optimizing procedures to streamlining coordination, since the project submitted its electricity connection application in May 2025, State Grid Huangshi Power Supply Company has deepened its “one-stop” service and strengthened on-site project coordination, helping the customer make fewer trips and get things done faster.
Since the beginning of this year, State Grid Huangshi Power Supply Company has also focused on customer needs by innovatively establishing a “Double Ten” standard service terminology system, continuously improving internal workflow efficiency, and further implementing the “seamless” electricity connection model to help customers gain earlier access to reliable electricity services.
