On June 16, the Promotion Event for the Yellow River Cultural Tourism Belt together with the "Hello! China" – 2026 Overseas Promotion Campaign for Yellow River-themed Tourism was held in Wuhai City. Ambassadors and cultural counselors stationed in China from 11 countries including Vietnam, Morocco and Malta, leading officials from culture and tourism authorities of the nine provinces and autonomous regions along the Yellow River, as well as representatives of local cultural and tourism enterprises, gathered in Wuhai. Participants exchanged ideas on integrated cultural and tourism development strategies for the Yellow River Basin to boost high-quality inbound tourism growth along the Yellow River.

Venue of the event

Co-hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the People's Government of Wuhai City, the event carried the theme "Unite Nine Yellow River Provinces, Forge a New Chapter of Smart Cultural Tourism". During the event, a lineup of authoritative industry experts delivered in-depth interpretations of key topics including ecological conservation in the Yellow River Basin, innovation in cultural tourism business formats, and industrial chain development, offering intellectual support for high-quality cultural tourism development across the region. The Initiative on Cultural Tourism Cooperation among the Nine Yellow River Provinces and Autonomous Regions was released at the event, together with joint tickets for scenic spots along the Yellow River and three cross-regional signature cultural tourism routes.

The "Intangible Cultural Heritage & Local Specialties" Yellow River Cultural and Creative Market showcased representative intangible cultural heritage items from all nine Yellow River provinces and autonomous regions. In addition, a seminar themed "Collaboration & Innovation: Advancing Yellow River Cultural Tourism Development" was held in the afternoon. It focused on cross-regional cultural tourism coordination, technology-enabled tourism upgrading, and international inbound tourism cooperation, aiming to address bottlenecks in the sector and explore paths for collaborative and innovative growth.

This event served as a concrete initiative to implement the Outline of the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection and High-Quality Development Plan. It has built a high-level platform for exchange and cooperation in culture and tourism across the nine Yellow River provinces and autonomous regions. By establishing a cross-regional coordination mechanism for cultural tourism, it enables resource sharing, joint market development, and co-branding, further advancing the solid and in-depth development of the Yellow River Cultural Tourism Belt.
