On July 26, after 21 consecutive days of intensive operations in high temperatures, State Grid Ezhou Power Supply Company successfully completed the full-area demolition of the 110 kV equipment zone at Langjiafan 220 kV Substation.
Demolition site of the 110 kV equipment zone at Langjiafan Substation
As an important birthplace and core power supply hub of Ezhou's power grid, Langjiafan Substation has been in operation for 38 years. As its service life has continued to increase, the equipment at the aging station has gradually deteriorated and corroded, and the 110 kV semi-elevated structure has developed a risk of structural collapse, placing increasing pressure on safe operation. At the same time, with accelerated regional industrial upgrading, centralized new energy grid connection, and continuously rising electricity demand, the power supply capacity and equipment performance of the old substation can no longer meet the needs of high-quality urban development.

To complete the demolition task, State Grid Ezhou Power Supply Company adopted insulated barriers and electronic fencing to create dual near-electrical isolation, used 3D simulation to model high-risk construction operations, implemented full-site coverage with 13 monitoring channels, and fully deployed aerial work vehicles and spider-type work platforms, reducing construction risks. All construction personnel braved the scorching sun and heat, working day and night in a hard-fought effort to complete the full-area demolition task efficiently and safely with utmost professionalism and commitment.

The successful completion of the demolition task for the 110 kV equipment zone effectively eliminated regional structural safety hazards and removed a key obstacle to the subsequent installation of smart equipment and reconstruction of the grid framework. Next, State Grid Ezhou Power Supply Company will devote all efforts to building a modern smart power hub, continuously enhance regional power supply reliability and new energy accommodation capacity, and inject strong electrical momentum into the integrated development of the Wuhan-Ezhou-Huanggang metropolitan circle.
