Seminar on High-Quality Development of International Medical Services and 8th Belt and Road Medical Assistance Conference (MASSCON 2026) to Be Held in Beijing

The 32nd China International Medical Instrument Equipment Exhibition and Scientific Conference (China-Hospeq 2026) will be held in Beijing from August 14 to 16. Hosted by the International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of the National Health Commission of China, the event will bring together more than 200 enterprises and institutions from over 10 countries and regions, including China, Germany, the United States and Sweden. Dozens of international conferences and policy seminars will also be held as supporting events.

As one of the key supporting events of this year's China-Hospeq, the Seminar on High-Quality Development of International Medical Services and the 8th Belt and Road Medical Assistance Conference (MASSCON 2026) will take place on August 14. Themed "Pooling Intelligence Along the Silk Road, Advancing High-Quality International Medical Cooperation", MASSCON 2026 will be attended by representatives from the health sectors in China and abroad to discuss ways to drive the high-quality development of international medical services and medical assistance.

In recent years, foreign visitors seeking medical treatment in China have been looking beyond emergency services, with their demands expanding to include proactive seeking of medical services, elective treatment, specialized medical services, and health and wellness programs, among others. This phenomenon results from China's ever-growing medical service capacity and medical innovation strength, coupled with the expanding convenience for international exchanges.

In the face of this, MASSCON 2026 will focus on the facilitation measures for medical treatment of inbound visitors, international medical service experiences, the leading practices in China, cross-border/boundary medical information platforms, financial protection and payment settlement, medical rescue in border/boundary regions, the development of hospitals in border regions, medical tourism, and international patient transport, among other areas. It aims to strengthen coordination among resources related to international medical services, overseas health support, and medical assistance.

For the first time, China-Hospeq will also feature a zone centered on international medical cooperation, which will showcase China's capabilities in international medical services, the services provided by the hospitals in the country's border regions, supporting medical services, patient transport for emergency care, as well as appropriate technologies in which China has comparative advantages. The zone will provide a platform for institutions providing end-to-end international medical services to showcase their capabilities and exchange expertise, expected to help international medical cooperation move from mere exhibitions and dialogues toward practical collaboration, and promote the coordinated development of international medical services and overseas health support.
