As the new semester approaches, State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company has planned ahead and taken proactive action by conducting electrical safety inspections at schools of all types and levels in Sanmenxia, Henan Province, to ensure a safe and reliable power supply on campuses.
Given that campus power loads remain low during the summer vacation, equipment is left idle for extended periods and potential hazards can be difficult to detect, the company has organized inspectors to conduct electrical safety checks. The inspections focus on key facilities, including campus transformers, distribution cabinets, residual-current protective devices, emergency lighting and electrical equipment in school canteens. Inspectors carefully check for problems such as unreliable residual-current protection, aging wiring and electrical overloading, ensuring that no areas are overlooked during the inspection. Meanwhile, government authorities, schools and the power company work in close coordination to gain a full picture of power supply capacity, fully understand load conditions and thoroughly identify safety hazards.
State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company will continue to establish dedicated service channels for schools and implement a “one school, one designated liaison” service model so that electricity-related requests can be handled promptly. The company will proactively provide regular on-site services at the start of each semester and follow up quarterly on the rectification of identified hazards. It will also organize staff to conduct electrical safety education activities on campuses. Through themed class meetings, emergency drills and informational brochures, the company will promote knowledge of safe electricity use and emergency response and self-protection skills. Through caring, prompt and effective power services, it will further improve electrical safety at schools.
