Dongbao District, Jingmen, Hubei Province: Accelerating Pace of 'Attracting Foreign Investments and Going Abroad' to Boost Transformation and Upgrading of Green Construction Industry

Recently, numerous fashionable bookstores, coffee shops and tea shops with Nordic minimalist style opened along Zhongtian Street in Jingmen, Hubei Province, attracting many people to visit. This set of integrated wooden houses is constructed by Saaremaa House, an enterprise based in Dongbao Green Construction Industrial Park.

"We previously adopted the production mode of 'Made in Nordic Countries, Assembled by Dongbao Jingmen'; Nowadays, 70 percent of the doors, windows, furniture, floors and soft fittings of our wooden houses are made by Dongbao," said Fei Ying, the Executive Director of Saaremaa House.

In 2017, Saaremaa entered China and settled in Dongbao Green Construction Industrial Park in Dongbao District, Jingmen. Saaremaa's low-carbon building products cater to a variety of residential scenarios. Several kinds of supporting commercial building products, such as home-stay rooms, coffee booths, chess and card rooms, KTV, and bathrooms, can not only meet the needs of daily living, leisure and vacation, but also be used in public spaces, such as commercial blocks, park service areas, medical and health communities, etc.

Saaremaa actively explores new markets of the industries of leisure, cultural tourism and rural construction, adopting a development pattern integrating production, design, construction and operation with the advantage of centralized procurement of the relevant industry chains. Meanwhile, based on the current situation of the international market, the company plans to export the "Made by Dongbao" household products to the European market in reverse.

In recent years, Jingmen has been committed to building an industrial transformation and upgrading demonstration zone. As a leading force, the green construction industry in Dongbao District strongly supports the leading enterprises of green construction to drive the integrated development of the enterprises in the industrial park. The industrial adaptation in the industrial park has been continuously optimized, shifting the mode from "Assembled by Dongbao" to "Packaged by Dongbao". The city also aims to further build a low-carbon construction demonstration zone, construct a demonstration site for the nice integration of the green construction industry and the cultural tourism consumption industry in the Shengjing Mountain Paragliding Base, and facilitate the rural development of leisure industry.
