Ningbo, Zhejiang: Deepening "Community-Grid Collaboration" to Build a Bridge in Service to the People

Since the beginning of this year, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has been actively exploring and advancing a new "Community-Grid Collaboration" model and has created a 24-hour power supply service that combines both online and offline channels to quickly respond to customer needs.

On September 10, grid community managers from State Grid Ningbo Power Supply Company visited the Wenchang Convenience Service Center in Haishu District to conduct a "Safe Electricity Mini-class". Using demonstrations of smart electricity meter readings, they explained in detail the differences between smart and mechanical meters, how to read smart electricity meters, and their basic operating principles.

In July, the local power supply company signed a Party branch co-building agreement with the Ningbo Qian Haijun Volunteer Service Center. Focusing on three areas—organizational development, joint team training, and co-hosted activities—the two sides have developed distinctive service practices. Taking Wenchang Community as a pilot, they addressed the childcare difficulties faced by workers in emerging industries. In cooperation with teachers and students from Ningbo University, they established a full-chain support system integrating "curriculum design + venue support + catering service + volunteer care" and launched a public welfare summer camp, effectively easing the burdens on workers in new sectors.

At the same time, elderly care has also become a service priority. In Wenchang Community, the company has piloted the installation of "non-intrusive smart electricity meters." Though small and inconspicuous, these devices serve as "safety sentinels" for elderly residents living alone.

On the 24th of each month, the community charity market sets up on schedule, with power staff regularly in attendance. They patiently answer residents' questions about electricity use, share tips on the safe  use of appliances and energy conservation, and take down addresses to offer door-to-door assistance for elderly residents with limited mobility.

Through a series of "Community-Grid Collaboration" initiatives, State Grid Ningbo Power Supply Company has built a heart-to-heart bridge for serving the people.  (By Zhu Shanshan)
