The 2023 Launch Ceremony of "Charming Beijing" TV Series and Overseas Communication Achievements Exhibition Kicks off

On February 27, the 2023 Launch Ceremony of "Charming Beijing" TV Series and Overseas Communication Achievements Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the "Event") will take place at the No. 10 Exhibition Hall of Shougang Park. The Event is sponsored by the Information Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and organized by CRI Online of China Media Group in Beijing.

The Overseas Communication Project of "Charming Beijing" TV Series (hereinafter referred to as the "Project") is an innovative cultural project launched by the Information Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and CRI Online to deepen exchanges between China and foreign countries. Since its first session in 2019, it has invited production teams from countries such as Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Russia, Japan, and Serbia to Beijing for interviews and video shooting. The TV series has won popularity in those countries after being available on their TV stations.

The year 2022 marks the successful organization of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, the China-Italy Year of Culture and Tourism, and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the two countries, namely the Republic of Korea and Croatia. To showcase the development of the capital city Beijing in the new era to the international community and demonstrate the latest and the best image of the city to countries and communities around the globe, the Project invited teams from Italy, South Korea and Croatia to the Summer Palace, the Capital Museum, the National Speed Skating Oval (aka the Ice Ribbon), and the No. 10 Exhibition Hall of Shougang Park. The aforementioned teams, focusing on cultural Beijing, technological innovation in Beijing, and green Beijing, carried out interviews and presented the diverse charm of this Dual Olympic City from various perspectives. Since January 2023, the TV series has been available on mainstream media platforms, including Milano Pavia TV in Italy, the official website of Croatian Radiotelevision (Hrvatska radiotelevizija, HRT), and the Radio and Television of Montenegro (Radio i Televizija Crne Gore, RTCG) and has been popular among local audiences and netizens.

Representatives from the video shooting teams of the three countries and special guests will share the overseas communication achievements regarding the TV series. Besides, representatives of embassies in China, and Chinese and foreign experts and scholars will give keynote speeches focusing on the Project.

The 2023 Launch Ceremony of "Charming Beijing" TV Series will also take place on the same day. Notably, the launch ceremony was organized in a digitalized environment supported by XR technologies and characterized by human-computer interaction, offering guests and audiences brand-new visual experiences on-site.
