From March 28th to 29th, FISU Acting Chairman Leonz Eder, FISU Secretary General-CEO Eric Saintrond and a group of more than 80 people went to Wuhou District, Chengdu, Sichuan to inspect the three competition venues in the Wuhou competition area of the Chengdu Universiade.

Located in Wuhou District, the Taekwondo Stadium of Sichuan University Wangjiang Campus, the Comprehensive Hall of Chengdu Institute of Physical Education, and the Basketball Stadium of Sichuan Provincial Gymnasium will undertake the Art Taekwondo, Gymnastics, and Basketball competitions of the Chengdu Universiade respectively. The inspection team walked and watched to learn more about the construction of supporting facilities such as warm-up venues, training venues, athlete lounges, medical rooms, athlete mixed interview areas, and competition FOP areas in Wuhou competition area.

Leonz Eder said that the visit to the venues of the Universiade pleasantly shocked and surprised the delegation. The venue infrastructure, personnel organization, operation mode and reception services have all reached first-class standards. He felt that Chengdu is fully prepared for the start of the Universiade. And he was very much looking forward to this international event held here this summer. Tapio Kallio, the vice-chairman of the Medical Committee of the FISU Federation, said that he had experienced the enthusiasm of the organizers of the Chengdu Universiade during this visit and looked forward to the smooth holding of the Chengdu Universiade.
