On May 22, the closing ceremony of the 2023 Dressage-the Second Tonglu (China) Fuchun River Poetry Festival spanning nearly three months, was held in Tonglu County, Zhejiang Province.

Since its opening ceremony in February of this year, the poetry festival has initiated the "Tonglu Fuchun River Laurel Award" National Poetry Writing Competition, and held various events such as the first travelling exhibition of the Fuchun Landscape themed "Poetic County Welcomes Asian Games", "Wherever" Tonglu Poetic Art Exhibition, and trips for inspiration made by the Tonglu alliance of national famous universities' poetry societies, as well as lectures by national well-known poets in campus, enterprises and beautiful villages. 12,588 exceptional works in total have been received from more than 30 provinces nationwide.
The Laurel Award, as well as the Golden Osmanthus Award, Red Osmanthus Award and Silver Osmanthus Award, was presented to winners at the event after a meticulous selection from over 10,000 entries. At the closing ceremony, renowned international poets recite poems together, which helps Tonglu broaden its global vision and show its beauty to the whole world.

Notable works including the Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains and Dalingtu by Huang Gongwang, as well as the Fuchun Landscape by Xu Jiang, an artist and the chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, were displayed on site, further enhancing Tonglu's reputation as a "city of painting".

As the host county for the equestrian competition of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, Tonglu seamlessly combined the poetry festival with the Asian Games, blending the thousand-year-old poetry culture and modern sports culture. The integration of poetry into other areas such as calligraphy, painting, music, and cultural tourism has kept thriving, allowing Tonglu to continuously shine brightly. (Text/Photo by Tong Xuan)
