China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone Unveils Achievements in Development at 7th Silk Road International Exposition

On November 16, the 7th Silk Road International Exposition and the Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East & West China was held in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. This year's Silk Road International Exposition, composed of six exhibition areas in the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center, fully showcases the overall images, resource advantages, distinctive industries and key projects of the Belt and Road countries (regions), various provinces (districts and municipalities) of China, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and cities (districts) and enterprises of Shaanxi Province.

This exhibition, themed on "Pioneering reform and innovation for a new chapter of openness and development", is primarily divided into three parts, with a focus on Secretary General Xi Jinping's important instructions on the development of pilot free trade zones, as well as status of the China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone and other pilot free trade zones across the country.

Until now, the Zone has made remarkable achievements in development, with 36 institutional innovations replicated and promoted nationwide, and 106 ones across Shaanxi Province. It brings together a large number of famous enterprises such as Samsung and LONGi, with the role of pilot platforms for comprehensive reform and opening-up increasingly strengthened, having become a powerful growth driver for the high-quality development of Shaanxi's economy.

"Through this exhibition, we are more aware of the vital role of the pilot free trade zone as a pilot platform for comprehensive reform and opening-up, and more determined and confident in building a better pilot free trade zone. Meanwhile, it encourages people to pay more attention to and support the building of the pilot free trade zone, build consensus in the implementation of the upgrading strategy of the pilot free trade zone, and jointly advancing the high-quality development of the pilot free trade zone," said Yang Xiaobao, Head of the General Information of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce in an interview.
