She was born eight weeks ahead of her due date, weighing only 1,900 grams.

Unfortunately, she struggled in the neonatal intensive care unit for two weeks and was finally rescued from respiratory distress syndrome.

Fortunately, her father is a physician of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). She received treatments that are inaccessible to most premature babies, such as dietary therapy and chiropractic, day after day, and finally grew up healthily.

Sixteen years later, she designed and developed the first Chinese-English bilingual TCM pediatric health interactive app in the application market that has the function of constitution identification and tongue image identification to help parents around the world learn safe and effective TCM parenting methods. This APP has achieved over 11,000 global downloads and has been awarded three software copyrights. She is Jia Mingxuan, a grade 12 student from Shanghai Adcote School.

Jia Mingxuan and his father co-starred in the traditional Chinese medicine popular science film "The Descendant", which was recently shown on Shanghai TV and various video websites.

In the film, Jia Mingxuan, as a beneficiary of TCM, has always regarded it as a priceless treasure from fate. As she grown up, she hoped to use modern information technology to promote TCM to the world and benefit children's health. But this grand ambition is difficult for her father, who has conservative ideas, to understand. The conflict between father and daughter is about to break out... In the end, did Jia Mingxuan realize her dream?

The film authentically captures the emotional journey of a father and daughter as they spread traditional Chinese medicine culture, from initial conflict to eventual reconciliation, deeply moving the audience. Currently, the film has garnered over 2 million views online.

It is particularly worth mentioning that two international students from the United States and Canada also participated in the filming as the main actors. Together with Jia Mingxuan, these two international students from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine continue to discover the charm of TCM, join the team of TCM, and become the successors of TCM.

As an Inv member of the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA), a Youth Member of the New York Academy of Sciences, and a member of the China Invention Association, Jia Mingxuan expressed her thoughts after the film was released, "Although TCM brings hope to premature infants, because it is an empirical science based on the experience of practitioners, it is often criticized and doubted. I want to be an advocate of TCM and use modern empirical technology to prove the scientificity and effectiveness of TCM. I have used data science skills to develop an App which does TCM based diagnosis. The artificial intelligence-assisted algorithm that I used can imitate the behavior of the TCM practitioners, thus offering evidence for the success and replicability of TCM. I hope that modern technology can become a bridge between Eastern and Western medicine, and I will become the bridge builder."
