Groups of electrical workers in safety helmets and red vests are a frequent sight in the alleys, enterprise communities, and fields of Shaanxi, China. They are workers from the State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Company’s Zhang Side CPC Member Service Team.

In the summer, the sun shines for longer and temperatures invariably rise. The CPC Member Service Team has implemented steward-style inspection services to better meet the needs of photovoltaic (PV) power users in their area.

A PV power user in Yuli Village, Weinan, had nothing but praise for the 'Red Vest' team and their excellent service. "No matter what the issue is, all we have to do is pick up the phone, and they’re here for us. The electrical workers also conduct regular checks. The service is so convenient now."

The CPC Member Service Team has developed an advance power supply guarantee plan to ensure electricity is available for agricultural production during the summer planting, management, and harvest period, inspecting rural power lines, distribution transformers in the power supply range, and electric poles and towers associated with summer grain collection. Their comprehensive approach has also led to inspections of the grain purchasers’ professional equipment, such as power distribution rooms, and distribution boxes, and the establishment of protection and warning facilities for poles and flexible cables in wheat fields.
